WHO IS THIS FOR?

This session is designed for dental professionals who recognise that clinical skill alone is no longer enough.

• Want stronger patient trust and treatment acceptance
• Are noticing retention, rebooking, or communication breakdowns
• Lead teams formally or informally — chairside, front desk, or practice-wide
• Care deeply about ethics, documentation, and continuity of care
• Want practical insight, not theory or generic leadership talk

Suitable for: Dentists, OHTs, specialists, and dental leaders.

WHY THIS WEBINAR

Clinical excellence alone doesn’t protect trust, continuity, or clinicians.

Most breakdowns in practice are not clinical failures.

They happen in the spaces around treatment — in conversations that don’t fully land, assumptions that go unchecked, notes that don’t carry forward, and systems that quietly shift responsibility onto individuals.

Over time, these gaps affect patient trust, team confidence, and the sustainability of care.
Not because people don’t care — but because the unseen parts of duty of care are rarely taught, named, or supported.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

  • Clinical competence is expected in modern dentistry. What is often underestimated is how everyday conversations shape patient trust, confidence, and long-term engagement. This section explores why loyalty is rarely driven by treatment alone, and how responsibility and leadership show up in moments that feel routine rather than formal.

  • Patients may not remember technical detail, but they remember how an interaction made them feel. Clear, considered communication influences understanding, acceptance, and whether care continues beyond a single appointment. This part of the session looks at how trust is built quietly over time, and how small communication gaps can undermine even excellent clinical care.

  • Duty of care extends beyond diagnosis and consent. It is shaped by how information is recorded, how follow-up occurs, and how responsibility is shared across a practice. This section examines where ethical pressure often begins, why it is rarely obvious in the moment, and how unclear systems can place unintended weight on individual clinicians.

  • Continuity of care is influenced long before a patient sits in the chair. Booking, triage, documentation, and handover all affect preparedness, safety, and confidence. This segment highlights the dental team’s role as the first safety filter, and why alignment across the practice matters more than effort alone.

  • The session closes with clear, achievable shifts that support better communication, stronger continuity, and shared responsibility. These are not major changes or new systems, but small, intentional actions that reduce risk, lighten mental load, and contribute to more sustainable practice.
